RECENT ACTIVITIES
Friday 26 June 2009 - "Multicultural Concert" Hornsby RSL Club Auditorium 7.00 for 7.30pm Tickets $45 including finger food and a complimentary drink. Father Chris Riley's "Youth off the Streets" project will be the beneficiaty. Programme includes Russian vocalists, Greek, Scottish Highland, Indian Classical and Argentinian Tando Dancers, Australian Bush Band and 'Youth off the Streets' Children's Choir. Fr. Riley will be present and there will be lucky door prizes, a raffle and a Mini Auction. A wonderful evening raising $8400 for "Youth off the Streets"
Saturday 12 September 2009 - Monster Garage Sale Venue: CAS St Ives, 6 Stanley Street, St Ives 8.30 am to 1.00 pm. Donations of saleable goods in sound condition and working order may be delivered to the hall on Friday 11 September between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm. Unfortunately we can only accept goods that will fit into a sedan car. Regrettably we do not accept, magazines (inc National Geographic), text books, Readers Digest Condensed books, encyclopaedias, old computers or old style TV's as they do not sell. Thanks to all who donated and came to buy. $3800 net was raised which will be used to support similar beneficiaries to last year (2008-09 details below)

20stives75Saturday 12 December 2009 "Carols in the Park" Carols in Bicentennial Park, West Pymble from 6.00 pm St Ives Lions Club will be selling Sausage Sizzles and cool soft drinks. "Stick Lights" and Lions Christmas Cakes will also be available. Proceeds from the Sausage Sizzle will be donated to LifeLine (Harbour to Hawkesbury).
Tuesday 26 January 2010 "Australia Day Concert" in Bicentennial Park, West Pymble. Sausage sizzle etc during Ku-ring-gai Council's evening concert from 5.00 pm
Thursday 11 March 2010 "Pymble Players" Whole of theatre booking for "A Sting in the Tale". A comic mystery, cleverly drawing on a host of famous hits, which will keep you guessing. "It is years since they have written a successful play but two crime writers dream of another box office winner. At the moment their creative efforts have stalled, they're running out of money & as they search for the perfect plot, a murder mystery is hatched. Or is that 'hatchetted'? Drama and real life trip over each other until what is plot and what is bloody murder become hopelessly intertwined." Tickets $20 from Treasurer 9449 5054

Funds Raised - Net after expenses for each activity
Multicultural Concert $8400, Sausage Sizzles $8450, Garage sales $6200, Lions Christmas Cakes $2600, Theatre Party $500, Lion Mints $230. Some activities such as Youth of the Year, Youth Exchange and compulsory insurances (Mainly Accident Insurance) have a cost but no income. Total Net funds raised in 2008-09 $23700.
Major Donations Made
Youth off the Streets $8400; Lifeline $1900; Camps for Kids with Diabetes, Community Access Service - St Ives $1500 each; District Disaster Relief Fund $1000; Meals on Wheels (Christmas Cakes) $600; St Ives North Venturers, Ku-ring-gia Ranger Guides, Australian Lions Children's Mobility Foundation, Hearing Dogs Inc, Street Work Chatswood, Arthritis Foundation-NSW, Ku-ring-gai State Emergency Service, Australian Lions Foundation, CareFlight, Lucilles Spurr Appeal, Ku-ring-gai Youth Development Service $500 each; 13 donations of $250 or less (totalling $2650) were also made. Total Donations made in 2008-09 $23610
Total Funds raised & Donations made since 2001, (i.e.) in 9 years is $202,000. In addition we hav assisted the Salvation Army "Red Shield Appeal" collect almost $100,000
