Monday 25 June 2012 - Annual Changeover. The instalation of the club Board for 2012-2013. Venue: Chequers Resort & Conference Centre, Mona Vale Road, Terry Hills 7.00 for 7.30 pm
Visitors very welcome to attend any meeting however for catering purposes please contact the Membership Chairman (9449 4377) beforehand. First time visitors are our guests for the evening.
RECENT ACTIVITIES
Saturday 6 August 2011 (NB Change of date)- "Monster Garage Sale" Venue CAS, 6 Stanley Street, St Ives.8.30 am to 1.00 pm. We welcome donations of goods on Friday 5 August between 9.00 am & 5 pm. Donations should be in sound condition & working order & be able to fit into a sedan car. We take books, records, CD/DVD's, toys, clothing & furnishings, china & cutlery, small electrical appliances in working order, handyman & gardening tools, sporting goods, pictures, small pieces of furniture. Unfortunately we do not take magazines (inc. National Geographic & Readers Digest), encyclopaedias, text books, old style TV's & computers as they do not sell and we have to pay to dump them. Thanks to everyone who donated goods and those who came to buy. $3000 raised which will enable us to support various Lions Foundations
Friday 11 November 2011 "Charity Concert" at North Sydney Leagues Club, 7.00 fpr 7.30 pm. The beneficiary will be "Delvena Womens Refuge". The performers will be: The Willoughby Symphony Choir; Ambre Hammond Concert Pianiast who has played overseas; Romashka - Russian Vocalists & A Little Buenos Aires - Tango Dancing. Tickets, $35, can be reserved by contacting North Sydney Leagues Club 9245 3000. Seating will be at tables of 8 so bring some friends along to a great evenings entertainment. Nibbles will be served at the tables. Meals are available at the club before the concert. For enquiries please contact the concert organiser Roy 9449 2693 / 0412 213 549. $8000 raised
Sunday 13 November 2011 "Bare Creek Trail Run" Family fun run conducted by St Ives Park Primary School. The Lions will look after participants bags during the event. Lions Christmas Cakes will be available A great event for which the organisers are to be congratulated
Sunday 27 November 2011 'Santa's Arrival at St Ives Shopping Village' St Ives Lions will participate in the celebrations, promoting our activities and offering tasting samples of Christmas Cakes
November & December "Christmas cake sales" with Ku-Ring-Gai State Emergency Service (SES) the beneficiary. The SES are raising funds to fit-out new headquaters. 80 dozen (960) cakes sold this Christmas. Sincere thanks go to all who purchased cakes and the commercial outlets who assisted with sales.
Saturday 10 December 2011 " Carols in the Park". Bicentennial Park, West Pymble from 5.oo to 9.00 pm. St Ives Lions will provide a sausage sizzle and sell cool drinks with the proceeds going to 'Harbour to Hawksbury Life Line'. Although the days leading up to this day were very wet this Saturday was fine & warm which brought a good crowd to this popular annual event
Thursday 26 January 2012 - Australia Day Sausage Sizzle Ku-ring-gai Councils Concert, Bicentennial Park, West Pymble 5 - 9 pm. Lions will be selling sausage sizzles and cool drinks. Event cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.
Saturday 25 Februaty 2012 - Sausage Sizzle at Bunnings Belrose Another sucessful event raising approx. $1200 for various Lions Foundations
Monday 5 March 2012 - Region Final of Youth of the Year Quest hosted by St Ives Lions at St Ives Bowling Club 7.00 for 7.30 pm. This will be the Public Speaking element of the round. Beckey Bunting from Roseville College, sponsored by St Ives Lions Club, was the winner and now progresses to the District Final on 31 March. Beckey was succesful at the District Final and will contest the NSW State Final in Griffith on 14 April. This is the first time since 1993 that an entrant from St Ives has progressed to this level of the Quest since Jesse Clarke from Killara High School won the national Final. Becky won the NSW State Final but for personal reasons has withdrawn from the National Final. Her position in the National Final will be taken by the State runner-up, a student from Griffith.
Friday/Saturday 30/31 March 2012 - Garage Sale CAS St Ives, 6 Stanley Street, St Ives. We should be pleased to receive donations of goods, which should be of saleable quality and in working order (if appropriate) on Friday 30 March. Unfortunately we are NOT able to accept goods that will not fit into a sedan car nor do we accept magazines (inc. Readers digest), old style Tv's or old computers as they do not sell and we have to pay to dispose of them. SALE OF GOODS From 8.30am until 1.00 pm Saturday 31 March. Very many thanks to all the people who made donations of goods which enabled us to make $4200 after expenses which will be used to support Lions Foundations and other beneficiaries
Thursday 3 May 2012 Pymble Players Whole of theatre booking for "Morning Sacrifice" (Something regarding Immoral behavour in a girls school in the 1930s!!). Another great show. We have donated the proceeds, after cost of tickets, to The Lions Clubs International "Measles Initiative" - A joint programme with the Gates Foundation to eliminate Measles which results in the death of 450 children a day worldwide.
Sunday 6 May 2012 Festival on the Green. St Ives Lions will be holding a sausage sizzle and selling cool drinks at Ku-ring-gai Councils annual Autumn Fair. Held on St Ives Village Green 10.oo am to 4.00 pm. A wonderful day with perfect Autumn weather, clear skies and quite mild. We sold aver 600 sausage sizzles and almost 400 drinks giving a surplus of $2050 which will be donated to vatious Lions Foundations in Australia in the next 6 weeks .St Ives Lions wish to thank all who visited our stall to give the result detailed above
FUTURE ACTIVITIES
Sunday 20 May 2012 - Salvation Army "Red Shield Appeal Collection" Lions Club members will be acting as team leaders with groups of Secondary School students collecting door to door in various streets in St Ives. ASSISTANCE IS NEEDED. If you can give a few hours please contact on of the Lions Club officers listed at the top of this web site.

Thursday 4 October 2012 - Pymble Players whole of theatre booking for "Secret Bridesmaids' business. "It is the night before Meg's long awaited wedding. She and her bridesmaids have gathered for one last night of bachelorette fun...but as tensions rise & scandles are revealed Meg's dream of marriage is challenged & her friendships are rocked. Before she walks down the aisle, Megwill have to decide what really is important & who will be standing with her."

Non Fundraising Activities include: Lions Youth of the Year Quest, Lions Youth Exchange, Lions Peace Poster Contest, Collection of used spectacles for recycling to 3rd world areas. Support of child with a walking device. We assist the Salvation Army with the annual 'Red Shield Appeal' Door Knock.
